Why Is My Novete Mini Dishwasher Staining Dishes?
Are your dishes coming out of your Novete Mini Dishwasher with unsightly stains every time?
Well, it could be due to issues such as putting too much detergent, not loading dishes properly, or perhaps mineral deposits having formed inside the appliance.
Read on to find out what else could be causing the staining and how you can fix it.
Why Is My Novete Mini Dishwasher Staining Dishes?
It could be because of Hard Water Deposits
As I told you above, the first probable reasons is mineral deposits (especially if you’re using hard water)
Why is that so?
Now, hard water typically contains a high concentration of minerals like calcium and magnesium, which can leave behind a residue on your dishes.
What to do
To prevent hard water deposits from staining your dishes in your Novete Mini Dishwasher, go ahead and descale the machine.
The good thing is that both the lower and upper washing arms are easily detachable whenever you need to descale.
Long term solution
One effective method to keep these deposits off your dishwasher is by using a water softener.
Yup…..adding a water softener to your dishwasher can help reduce the mineral content in the water, which in turn means sparkling clean dishes always.
Bonus tip
You may also make it a habit to add 1/2 cup vinegar(distilled white vinegar) -to the water solution with every load – it helps get rid of the hard water spots and your dishes will be squeaky clean!.
Another option is to periodically soak your dishwasher’s interior with vinegar.
You see, the acidic properties of vinegar can dissolve the mineral deposits and keep your machine clean.
All you got to do is simply fill a bowl with vinegar, place it in the dishwasher, and run a cycle without any dishes.
That’s it!
Have you been loading items properly?
You can easily overlook this but failing to load dish items inside the appliances as recommended can lead to dirty dishes.
In other words, correct loading and appropriate dish stacking are super crucial to ensuring a thorough and effective cleaning process for your dirty dishes.
To be clear:
To begin, make sure to place the dishes in a way that allows water and detergent to reach all surfaces.
In a nutshell, avoid overcrowding the dishwasher, as this can hamper proper water flow and result in uneven cleaning.
In addition, load dishes with the soiled side facing the center of the dishwasher, where the spray arm is located.
Why?
For the simple reason that it ensures that dirtiest parts of the dishes receive the most cleaning power.
Lastly, be mindful of stacking dishes too closely together, as this might lead to nesting which also hinders proper water and detergent distribution during a cycle.
Oh, and do not overload it…or your dishes come out spotty and sticky(forcing you to rinse them again)
Are you adding adequate detergent?
I don’t know if you understand this:
Putting inadequate amount of detergent is another very regular cause of sub-optimal cleaning performance and residue buildup on your dishes.
So you should always carefully measure and use detergent in your Novete Mini Dishwasher if you don’t want your dishes to come out with soap spots all over the place.
To make it clearer, You May have to test the results with different levels/amounts of detergent to see the volume that works best.
Keep in mind that the machine has a detergent spot with a line(on it) that says 8g … If I recall correctly, I have used 1 to 2g of detergent and gotten great results (your water hardness matters too)
Bonus tip
Only add a detergent specifically made for dishwashers: liquid, Pods, or powder detergents(Do not add rinse aids with this).
Check the water temp
Incorrect water temperature is another reason you could be seeing some stains on your dishes..
The thing is: If the water is too cold, detergent may fail to dissolve fully(leaving residues on your dishes).
On the other hand, if the water is too hot, it can make the detergent become overly concentrated, leaving stains.
What to do
Look at the manual…it tells you the temperature of each wash, plus whether it rinses with cold or hot water.
For example, baby wash and normal wash have both hot and cold rinses.
Check for Clogged Spray Arms
Also be sure to check and clean out the spray arms in your Novete Mini Dishwasher(if clogged) since they also tend to cause dish staining.
What causes the clogging?
Well, mineral buildup and low water pressure are the most common culprits behind clogged spray arms.
To be precise, minerals from hard water might have accumulated inside the spray arms, blocking the water flow and reducing its effectiveness.
That is what could be causing inadequate rinsing and cleaning, and hence staining of your dishes.
What to do
To resolve the problem, start by removing the spray arms from the dishwasher.
You want to rinse them thoroughly -with warm water- to dislodge any mineral buildup.
Be sure to use a toothpick or a small brush to clear any stubborn debris from the spray arm nozzles.
Once you have cleaned them, reattach the spray arms and run a cycle with a dishwasher cleaner to further eliminate any remaining mineral deposits.
Do that regularly to avoid staining of your dishes moving forward.
