In our previous guide, we saw how to fix a dishwasher that’s leaking from underneath. As a continuation, today I will take you through how to solve dishwasher leaking from bottom right corner problems.
Also, I will give you the steps that you can follow to fix the cause of the leak.
Dishwasher leaking from bottom right corner – causes and solutions
To start with…
The dishwasher might not be level
And this could be due to an unlevel house or one of the legs might have gone out of position.
And in this case, the bottom right corner might be a bit lower than the rest of the dishwasher.
This will result in water flooding at the bottom right corner of the dishwasher.
Eventually, this water will start to leak hence the problem you are experiencing.
With that in mind, use a level to confirm that your dishwasher is level.
For this, you will want to make sure that you are adhering to the installation guidelines on the manufacturer’s website.
It could be that the door seal/gasket is dirty/bad
In turn, this will create some space between the door and the dishwasher when you close the door.
This will then result in water leaking out through this space when the dishwasher runs.
In this case, high chances are that the gasket problem is in the bottom right corner.
Possible solutions
Start by cleaning any gunk that might be preventing the gasket from closing fully.
To do so, use a damp cloth and mild detergent and gently wipe the gasket clean.
While cleaning the gasket, also check it for any signs of damage, wearing out, or being loose.
If it is loose, try to tighten it. And while at it, also tighten any door screws that might be loose.
On the other hand, if the door gasket is worn out, your best bet is to replace it.

Is the dishwasher overly sudsy?
Another possible suspect for your dishwasher leaking from the bottom right corner is using too much (or the wrong) detergent.
This will result in the formation of excess suds inside the dishwasher.
As the suds continue to increase, they will start escaping the dishwasher through any point they can… In this case, the bottom right corner.
To fix this problem, run two rinse cycles to get rid of the detergent.
Pro tip: In extreme cases, you might need to run several rinse cycles to get rid of all the suds.
Something else: The next time you are running a cycle, remember to use the right amount of the right detergent.

Check if the spray arm(s) is stuck
As a result, it is spraying water towards one end of the dishwasher – in this case, the bottom right corner.
As the dishwasher continues to run, water will accrue in this part and it might eventually start to leak through the corner.
For the most part, this is usually due to the water pressure loosening the gasket around this area.
What you can do
Start by rearranging the dishes since it could be one of the dishes that is preventing the arm from rotating.
Next, remove any particles in the wash basket that might be preventing the spray arm from rotating.
Moving on…
Use a paperclip/toothpick to remove any foreign objects that might be clogging the jet holes on the spray arm.
Once done unclogging the holes, remember to rinse the arm under running water to remove any residue that might have been left in there.
Something else: As the water runs through the spray arm, check to see if it is leaking through the seams.
If it is, this is an indication that the arm is bad – broken seams reduce the water pressure which might also cause the arm not to rotate.
In this case, you will need to replace the faulty spray arm.

The float switch assembly might be clogged/bad
This is among the most common culprits for a dishwasher leaking from the bottom right corner – the float switch assembly is located on the bottom right corner of the unit.
Usually, when it is clogged (or one of its components is acting up), water will overflow into the hollow tube under the float bracket.
From here, the water will start leaking from the assembly and out of the dishwasher.
How to fix the problem
Start by removing any foreign objects that might be trapped below the float bracket assembly.
Next, check if the float bracket has disintegrated from the assembly shaft.
If it has disintegrated, simply apply some extra pressure on it to position it back into place.

When purchasing a replacement part, remember to first confirm that it is compatible with your dishwasher model.
For instance, you might purchase an LG spray arm only for it not to fit your LG dishwasher model.
